The camp site in Hafnarfjordur is in a large park called Vidistaðatun, located near the town center.

Campsite Description
The campsite is open from the 16th of May to the 21th of September
Hafnarfjörður is Iceland’s third largest town, with around 30,000 inhabitants. A direct translation of the town’s name is “harbour fjord,” referencing the town’s exquisite natural harbour that contributed to making the town an important centre for fishing and trade early on.
The town is built on lava, and is said to have an extremely large population of Hidden Folk, elves, dwarfs and other mystical beings. According to mythology, they inhabit boulders that are almost impossible to destroy.
For those of you traveling by car, the airport is only a 40 minute drive away. We are situated in a beautiful park near the town centre of Hafnarfjörður, a quiet and cosy area. However, downtown Reykjavik is only a 15 minute driving distance, so you still remain close to the action. Facilities include: WC, showers, washing machine, WI-Fi, hot and cold water.
The camp site in Hafnarfjörður is in a very nice location in Víðistaðatún. Surrounded by lava and works of art in a beautiful and child friendly surroundings. Close to the town centre of Hafnarfjörður (5 min walk) and close to shops and other services.
The campsite is operated by the scouts of Hafnarfjörður and all the profits goes towards supporting the scouts.
The maximum stay is 7 nights.
You need a long cord to use electricity in Zone C, the outlets are in Zone B which is across the driveway.
You can only park one RV/camper/caravan per spot
Children under the age of 18 cannot camp alone and must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
We do not accept American Express.
We do not have a kitchen facility or an indoor seating area.
Security cameras are located at the entrance.
How do I get into the campsite?
There is free WiFi near the gate
1) Book a camping spot through Parka (press "Book Now")
2) The gate has a license plate scanner and is supposed to open automatically
If that doesn't work then follow these steps
1) Open the receipt that you got in your email*.
2) click on "check-in to the area", from there you can add and correct your license plate numbers, the gate should open automatically after that.
3) if that doesn't work then press "open gate".
*If the booking was successful then you should have received a receipt (check your spam), you will get 2 emails.
